Wet shave

The easiest treatment, but must be repeated almost every other day. Stubbly, hard hair-regrowth. Disadvantage: risk of injury, inflammations on sensitive body areas, not permanent.

Depilatory creams

Are a „greasy thing“. Disadvantage: irritation of the skin due to chemical substances. Not all the hair is always removed, not permanent.

Is a little complicated, but has positive result lasting for about 4 – 5 weeks before starting over again. Disadvantage: extremely painfull, difficult treatment and generating “lots of fun” not only in sensitive areas . . . “ – causing irritations directly after waxing and also when the hair regrows again, not permanent.

Epilation

Can remove hair permanently, if applied by specialised staff. – but only after many months of treatment and/or many appointments. Disadvantage: Only effective when hair is influenced exactly during growth-phase, making more and more treatments necessary until the hair is “caught” in the right moment, during the growth-cycle. Also very painfull, causing inflammations, pigment movements and/or changes in the skin structure and colour. – Treatment only by specialised staff!

Laser depilation

Also painfull, advertises with a permanent solution, but the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) defines as permanent only 45 days. The treatment requires up to 20 sessions since a destructive effect on the hair is only guaranteed in its growth-phase (same as with the needle epilation). In addition, the difficulties with lighter hair need to be considered as well as possible skin damages. Disadvantage: Similar to the needle epilation, critical application as not all laser equipments are on a top technical level (possibly causing burns and scarring)

Light flash method

Is similar to the laser method, forwarding heat to the root of the hair, but instead of the laser a flash lamp is used. Disadvantage: the possible side effects are comparable to the laser and the needle epilation.
